We’re looking forward to two book adaptations that will hit theaters this year.
The first is John Green’s Paper Towns, scheduled for June 5 (?), 2015. The story involves Quentin “Q” Jacobsen, and his neighbor Margo Roth Spiegelman, who once discovered the corpse of a divorced man who has committed suicide. Years later, in the middle of the night, Margo shows up at Quentin’s bedroom and convinces him to sneak out and help her get revenge on people she feels have hurt her. The next day Margo doesn’t show up for school. Q and his friends set off to follow some bizarre clues left by Margo, including an address scrawled on a small piece of paper in his door. I found this trailer for Paper Towns which claims the release date is August.
The second is, of course, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay (Part 2), scheduled for release on November 20, 2015. The official storyline (as if you needed to know) follows Katniss Everdeen as she leads the districts of Panem in a rebellion against the tyrannical and corrupt Capitol. As the war that will determine the fate of Panem escalates, Katniss must decipher for herself who she can trust and what needs to be done, with everything she cares for in the balance.
