Hi! I’m Donna Maloy.
For years I’ve been writing adventures… about about shapeshifters and sorcerers, first love and magic, villains and heroes. After working hard to learn everything I could about the craft of writing, I began winning contests. Now… well, my first middle-grade book, Celia and the Wolf, is a reality. And now I’m hard at work on the sequel, Celia and the Mountain Lord. Learn more about both on the Books page on my website.
Along the way, I’ve learned a lot about writing and publishing, and also met some incredibly generous people who share their wisdom on this blog, TangledWords.com. If you’re a new writer–especially if you’re a teen writer–come check out the blog and leave your questions. I’ll do my best to answer them or find someone who can. A semi-regular feature is Monday Advice from Editors and Agents–terrific, current advice for those of you who are getting ready to submit your own manuscript.
I love to work with teens who write! On my website‘s Tips for Teen Writers page you’ll find information on markets that accept teen fiction, articles and poetry. You’ll also find links to contests, workshops, and writing websites that are just for teens. And if you’re already a member of a writing group, you may be interested in one of the Workshops I conduct.
Let me know what you’re working on!
